Isaiah 40:31 “…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” This is a very well-known verse, as it brings much prophetic hope to us during tough times. It is also a reminder that when we wait for God to show up in our circumstances, that he will then renew our strength. All we have to do is wait on him, and he will lift us up like the eagles who fly above the storm clouds and the winds. How encouraging it is to know that with God’s help we will not grow weary or faint. We will be able to walk and run again to face life’s challenges.

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” It is so encouraging for me to know that when difficulties come my way, the Lord is my refuge and my strength. I can run to his arms for comfort and safety at all times, as he is always there for me. The phrase “very present” brings peace as well, because we don’t have to wait our turn to go to him. God is always there for us when we need him.

The Bible says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Prov. 13:12). It also tells us, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1). If the enemy can get you to lose hope, he can get you to stop living by faith.

As Christians, we need to acknowledge that God is good. He gives us all things and He creates all things. We should never forget that. On top of that, we should be always be thankful for the things God gives to us, because we are His creations. Here are some Bible verses about gratitude if you need help giving thanks to God. It doesn't come naturally for everyone, so it's understandable if you need guidance! Psalms 107:1 O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 136:1 O give thanks to the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Lamentations 3:23 They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness. John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me. Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful. Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Hebrews 12:28 Why we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no ficklenss, neither shadow of turning.
