Let's be real. As women we are always envious of other women. We compare ourselves to one another and always want what we don't have. What we forget is how beautiful God thinks we are. We were made to be unique. No one else was created the same. WE have to remind ourselves that we are fully pleasing to God. He has his eye on us and is in love with us. Sometimes we feel as though our self worth is determined by our looks. In this world looks mean a lot. People depend and judge on looks instead of our hearts. God doesn't! He looks deep into our hearts and calls us beautiful. Our self worth is what God says we are. Not the world. The world says tall walking sticks are beautiful, but what about the beauty of a full figured woman? God doesn't look at her any different than a skinny supermodel.

All the time God is good.” Haven’t we all said these affirmations before, as we declare God’s faithfulness? I have said this many times, and I believe it with all of my heart. In our lives we will have trouble, but we also know that we can go to the Lord for protection and comfort. He knows us intimately, and he still loves and cares for us very much. Because he is so good, we can take refuge in him.

Isaiah 40:31 “…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” This is a very well-known verse, as it brings much prophetic hope to us during tough times. It is also a reminder that when we wait for God to show up in our circumstances, that he will then renew our strength. All we have to do is wait on him, and he will lift us up like the eagles who fly above the storm clouds and the winds. How encouraging it is to know that with God’s help we will not grow weary or faint. We will be able to walk and run again to face life’s challenges.

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” It is so encouraging for me to know that when difficulties come my way, the Lord is my refuge and my strength. I can run to his arms for comfort and safety at all times, as he is always there for me. The phrase “very present” brings peace as well, because we don’t have to wait our turn to go to him. God is always there for us when we need him.

GOD knew we would live in a crazy world of weirdos, perverts, terrorists, bad drives, even mad cows, GOD knew that you would be hesitant to let your kids go out the door into such a world. Therefore, in this day and hour of history, it is especially important to pray for our kids' protection. As believers living in a very challenging time, we must know how to pray and what to pray to see the next generation grow up and stay strong in GOD. I believe GOD can and will protect our kids in the same way GOD protected JESUS, but we have a part to play. We must pray.
